9 “Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you; He is righteous and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
Zechariah 9:9

So what do you get when you have the greatest prophecy in the Bible mixed in the same chapter with the greatest prayer in the Bible? You get another great FOTET class!

Daniel’s prophecy telling the day that Jesus the Messiah would arrive was fulfilled on Palm Sunday when Christ made His “Triumphant Entry” into Jerusalem, riding a donkey.

In Zechariah 9:9, the prophet speaks of the future king presenting himself to Jerusalem while riding on a humble donkey. This foreshadowed what happened 500 years later. As explained in Luke 19:35-37, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and presented himself as the Messiah, and King.

This took place exactly 173,880 days after Artaxerxes Decree in 445 BC, just as Daniel predicted on the dates in the above chart (Daniel 9:24-27). Israel should have known the day of Jesus the Messiah had arrived but like most people today, they were too busy to take notice!
