“Prophecy chatter” has been blowing up online these days regarding the Feast of Trumpets (Sept. 23, 2025) and its possible implications regarding the rapture, the coming of the Lord, and other dramatic end-time events.
I understand the emotional frenzy associated with these topics and the financial gains that can rise from peddling them online.
But I advise our friends to guard their hearts and minds against ANYTHING that is not anchored in a clear biblical reference to the church-age.
We believe that all seven Feasts of the Lord (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles) were part of the Mosaic Law and pointed to Jesus and His work.
The Apostle Paul tells us that all the Old Testament feasts have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ and they are therefore no longer valid markers in the church age – Col. 2:16-17
6 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ.
Do I believe that the rapture is a factual biblical promise? Yes I do.
And we are certain that the world has entered the season of the final prophesied events with Jerusalem front and center.
But most of the prophetic chatter that flies online these days doesn’t touch our hearts because it doesn’t align with biblical teaching.
We realize that we may be wrong and we do respect our friends and partners in the Gospel who follow their honest convictions in these matters. Yet we remain steadfast, holding firmly to what we know for sure, while holding very lightly to everything else.
All the Bible tells us about the Feast of Trumpets is that it was a national “Wake Up Call;” a dramatic event signaling the start of the preparations for the upcoming Day of Atonement and the joyful seventh Feast of Tabernacles.
The Feast of Trumpets’ designation as ROSH HASHANAH (the Head of the Year) is not biblical, just as the claim that it was the occasion for the creation of the world and of Adam are not biblical. These are Babylonian traditions that crept into rabbinical writings while Israel was in exile.
So please be careful how much you invest yourself into the “prophetic” chatter regarding September 23 and the coming Feast of Trumpets, the end of days, the rapture, or Jewish mysticism that is extra biblical.
Rather, be sure that your focus remains on cultivating the Life of Messiah in you while waiting for His return!
He alone is the hope of glory!
