God’s Voice: The Signs Are All Around

God’s Voice: The Signs Are All Around

A common response to those like me who believe we live in the last days is this: “The world has seen violence and wickedness all through its history. What’s so different about today?”

I fully understand that question. When one considers the world wars of the previous century, it seems as though things could not get any worse than that.

Seventy-five years ago, many Christians thought Hitler was Antichrist based on his hatred of the Jews and his efforts to establish a socialist empire. This was truly a terrible time in world history, but it was not the prelude to the Tribulation period like we’re seeing today.

The Holocaust was for a different purpose. It was Satan’s effort to prevent Israel from becoming a nation and fulfilling their end time destiny.

My assertion regarding the nearness of the Day of the Lord does not stem from a comparison of the peril in years past to that of today.

Our time in history is unique because of the abundance of biblical signs telling us that the Tribulation is rapidly approaching. And our generation is unique because we are seeing a “convergence” of all the Signs of the Times shouting to us that the Lord is coming soon!

Below, I list several key signs that warn us of its nearness in time:

The Signs of Israel as a Nation

The rebirth of Israel in 1948 sparked a domino effect on end time prophecy. Not only is God gathering Jews back to the Land, Israel is now in control of Jerusalem, a major sign and prerequisite for the events of the Tribulation period.

Aligning Nations of Prophecy

Ezekiel 38 provides important details of the Battle of Armageddon that are not mentioned in the book of Revelation.  Although the prophet lists the invading armies by their ancient names, the alliance will consist of Turkey, Iran, Sudan, and Libya. Today, all four of these radical Islamic nations have abundant military resources and soldiers in Syria, close to Israel’s borders. Both Iran and Turkey also have a strategic alliance with Libya and Sudan.

Equally remarkable are the countries missing from the Ezekiel list of Israel’s enemies and how they’re in alignment today. Egypt and Jordan currently have peace treaties with Israel; Saudi Arabia has recently formed a close alliance with Jerusalem in response to the threat from Iran.

The Lord, through the prophet Ezekiel, precisely described today’s current Middle East alignment of nations over 2,600 years ago.

Alignment of Turkey and Iran

In an amazing turn of events, Turkey and Iran are forming an alliance! Turkey is Sunni and the former head of the Ottoman empire while Iran is the world’s most dominant Shiite nation.

Traditionally, these two Muslim factions don’t mix well but that’s exactly how Daniel prophesied the final empire,

“And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay” (Daniel 2:43).

The Push for Third Temple

The Bible predicts the existence of a third Jewish temple in the last days. In Matthew 24:15, Jesus referred to Daniel’s prophecy that Antichrist would defile a rebuilt Jewish temple in the middle of the seven-year tribulation (see also Dan. 9:27).

The push for this temple is rising at a fever pitch in Israel. For the first time, Orthodox political parties have included a pro-temple plank as part of their party statement in 2019. Most amazingly, they were voted into the Knesset!

I’ll continue my list this week as we consider more about: “Signs, The Voice of God.”

The Tribulation is casting its shadow over the final years of the Church age. Time is running short.

The Bible tells us we cannot know the timing of Jesus’ return for His church, which happens before the Tribulation. But He did give us Signs so we would recognize the season of His return, and we are in that season.

The Outpouring of End-Time Signs

The Outpouring of End-Time Signs

God is obligated by His character to warn the world of impending Tribulation judgment and the imminent return of His Son.

The reason for this is because Jesus is returning in great wrath to “judge and wage war” (Rev. 19:11), and God never pours out His wrath without warning.

God does not wish that any should perish, but that all should be brought to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, God always warns before He executes His wrath.

He warned the world through Noah for 120 years. He also warned Sodom and Gomorrah through Abraham.

He sent Jonah to warn the pagan city of Nineveh, and He sent Nahum to the same city 150 years later.

God used Jeremiah to warn Judah that He was sending the Babylonian’s to destroy Jerusalem if they didn’t repent. And Jesus warned that the Romans would wipe out Israel and their Temple if they didn’t repent. It happened in 70 AD.

Likewise, God is warning the world today that time is running out. He is sending sign after sign that His Son is about to return.

The message of the hour we should be hearing from pulpits is: “Flee from the wrath that is to come by fleeing into the loving arms of Jesus now.”

Jesus came the first time as an expression of God’s love; He came to die for the sins of Mankind. But when He returns, He will come in vengeance to pour out the wrath of God on those who have rejected God’s love and grace.

Our class will discuss prophecies about world events and unique attitudes to watch for that will identify the season of the Lord’s return.

Our goal for the class is to help you realize we are smack-dab in the middle of the end times!

Signs are like Birth Pains They Increase as the Day Draws Near

Signs are like Birth Pains They Increase as the Day Draws Near

The Bible gives us certain signs of the times we’re told to be looking for. Jesus said there would be clear indications that will alert us to His soon return.

Here’s what I find so fascinating and what we’ll discuss in our upcoming class. There are more end time signs coming in closer proximity to one another than ever before. Have you noticed this?

Jesus described the signs by saying they would be like birth pains (Mt. 24:8).

He was warning us that just like contractions increase in frequency, intensity and duration, so will there be more signs appearing as we get closer to the return of Jesus.

Just like birth pangs, end time signs are becoming more pronounced and disruptive!

Israel’s Election News “Build the Temple Now” Slogan of Israel’s Zehut Party: Important End-Time Sign

Israel’s Election News “Build the Temple Now” Slogan of Israel’s Zehut Party: Important End-Time Sign

The Chairman of the right wing Zehut party said Wednesday that he wants to rebuild the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem immediately.

“I don’t want to build the Temple in one or two years, I want to build it now,” Moshe Feiglin said at a recent Jerusalem Post conference in Israel.

Imagine that, a guy name Moses running for office in Israel under the banner of leading the nation to build their Temple!

Feiglin’s plank also says the Temple should be built on the Temple Mount, referring to the site that currently houses the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque and where both Jewish Temples stood in the past.

Feiglin’s Zehut party made a solid showing in the cancelled April election in Israel and poles now have them gaining momentum in the run up to the coming September 17 do-over election.

Israel’s Third Temple

Fulfils Biblical Prophecy

The Orthodox community is made up of traditional Jews living in Israel that believe in the Old Testament and Jehovah but do not recognize Jesus as Messiah.

As a group, the Orthodox continue to grow and influence policy and politics and are especially strong in their desire to see the Temple built.

In another recent example, when Jerusalem was heading into their last mayoral election the Sanhedrin urged both running candidates, Ofer Berkovich and Moshe Lion, to be prepared to rebuild the temple if elected.

The first two Temples of Jerusalem were constructed on the city’s Temple Mount centuries ago but were razed to the ground by the Babylonians and the Romans respectively.

The Temple plays a crucial role in Jewish tradition and is a central player in Israel’s Peace Treaty with Antichrist which is the focus of our upcoming class.

Join us Tuesday as we break down the importance of Israel’s end time peace treaty with Antichrist and discuss the prophetic implications of the Trump Peace Plan.

Middle East Peace: Important End Times Sign

Middle East Peace: Important End Times Sign

Many Christians today can discuss the signs of the times about the world’s moral decline, earthquakes, violence and war but few appear to recognize that the end-time peace negotiations for Middle East Peace are more important and have larger consequences!

Did you know that there’s going to be a final peace treaty between Antichrist and Israel that triggers the start of the seven-year Tribulation? And did you know that the peace plan gives Israel permission to build their Temple and by extension leads to the redemption of the Jewish people?

Talk of a peace deal in the Middle East is a big deal. It’s no laughing matter. The world carelessly broaches the subject, not realizing they’re dealing with actual divine power. They wield it like a kid that’s found his dad’s gun.

Join us next Tuesday as we break down the final peace plan and discuss the prophetic implications of the Trump Peace Plan.

The False Sign of September 23, 2017

The False Sign of September 23, 2017

Prophecy’s latest Hype!

New Signs In The Sky Worry Christians Who Fear That The Tribulation Period May Begin On September 23, 2017

Is This True?

Will the Tribulation begin on September 23, 2017 when we see the constellation Virgo with the sun rise directly behind it?

Before I answer, let me remind you that all too often, mysterious theories emerge that grab the attention of prophecy students. In many cases, well meaning believers get caught up in the hype and are let down. That was the case in 1988 with “88 Reasons why the Rapture will be in 88” by Edgar C. Whisenant. It happened again in 2010 with the followers of Harold Camping and again with the four lunar eclipses during 2014–2015 that caused many people to anticipate the Lord’s return. Of course this did not happen. Now it’s happening again from a misleading interpretation of Revelation 12… and it’s gaining traction.

Each time these date speculations occur, they end up giving Bible prophecy a bad reputation and a black eye. Now, with the popularity of YouTube, it’s much easier to propagate these ideas so they quickly take on a life of their own. Sadly, unsuspecting prophecy students tend to swallow it hook, line and sinker. So, just as I taught about each of those previous events, be aware of fanciful books and slick calculations that take ten wise men to debunk.

What’s All the Rage?

The prophecy blogosphere is abuzz about a supposed event of great prophetic significance on September 23 of this year. Many videos on the internet are promoting this. On this date, the sun will be in the constellation Virgo (the virgin), along with the moon near Virgo’s feet. Additionally, Jupiter will be in Virgo, while the planets Venus, Mars, and Mercury will be above and to the right of Virgo in the constellation Leo. Teachers are falsely claiming that this is a rare event (allegedly once in 7,000 years) and that it supposedly is a fulfillment of a sign in Revelation 12 to let us know the Lord is coming soon.

Revelation 12:1–2 (ESV) reads: And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.

Signs from Virgo in the Sky?

So we have here a woman (Virgo) in the sky (heaven), along with the sun, and the moon at her feet. What about the 12 stars? Virtually all the websites promoting this prophetic sign state that there are nine stars in Leo, but with the addition of the three planets (which appear as bright stars), there will be 12 stars. Since Leo is to the upper right of Virgo’s head, one might see this as a crown of 12 stars thus fulfilling the sign described in Revelation 12, “and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” Did you get that?

Scientific answers from “Answers in Genesis”

“Since the claim that Leo has nine stars is false, the assertion that the addition of the three planets brings the total number of stars in Leo to 12 is false too. And how rare is this occurrence, to have these additional three planets in Leo at the same time that Jupiter is in Virgo? It isn’t that common, but according to astronomy scholars it’s happened many times over the past 7,000 years, so the claim that this unusual event is so rare is false too. And how do we know that Jupiter is supposed to represent the child in Revelation 12? There is no evidence for that either. Instead, these are mere assertions and rumors someone has made with others repeating the false claims.” (www.answersingenesis.org)

What Does Revelation 12 mean?

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed studying Revelation 12 and have had the privelge of teaching it a number of times. It happens to be one of my favorite chapters and provides a unique perspective on the interaction between Satan and Israel, Satan and our world and Satan’s activities during the Tribulation Period. The language and context of Revelation 12 is to be taken symbolically not literally.

The woman is Israel and the dragon is Satan. The woman with the sun, moon and 12 stars represents the 12 tribes of Israel and is taken from Joseph’s dream in Genesis 37:9,

9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”

The “woman with child” is a depiction of Israel who longed for the appearance of their Messiah. The Dragon in front of the woman portrays how Satan sought to destroy the Jewish people throughout the Old Testament in order to destroy the coming Messiah. The language used is never meant to be taken as a literal constellation. Nor does it ever tell us to be looking for it as a special sign-constellation announcing the soon return of the Lord in the end times. That is pure fantasy!

Conclusion… Are You Ready?

What sort of prophetic event is this sign supposed to usher in? Clearly, most people promoting this have in mind the Lord’s return. Some explicitly state this, but others, mindful of the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:36 are hesitant to make that claim, though their implication is clear enough.

These types of claims have been made many times before. I suspect that the same will be true on September 23 this year. The Tribulation will not begin on September 23, 2017, when we all see the constellation Virgo with the sun rising directly behind it. People who get excited about these supposed signs miss the point that Jesus made in Matthew 24:42

Instead of setting dates, we ought to be ready for His return at any moment. Are you ready?
