Eight years ago when we started Focus On The End Times and our website began, there were no doubts as to the status of the US Dollar being the reserve currency of the world.

The US Petrodollar was set up in 1974 as the ticket to keep US dollars in demand internationally and therefore America’s buying power relatively stable. This unique pro-American system has kept the American dollar king of world currency for the last half century. Anywhere you travel in the world you can flash a $100 bill and people pay attention! And both the system and the dollar were still solid just eight years ago.

Decline of the Petrodollar
Since that time, there has been a growing movement by many nations to break the monopoly of the US dollar in international trade. China is the prime mover in this. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants to make China the dominant military and economic power on earth.

Nation by nation is chipping away at the hegemony of the US dollar as trade agreements are put in place for nations to trade in a currency other than the dollar.

The BRICS nations are at the center of this effort.

One rather large dent in the monopoly of the dollar has developed due to the Biden Administration’s failed Middle East policy toward Saudi Arabia. As a result, Saudi Arabia is now selling its oil to China in Chinese Yuan.
BRICS 11, Anti-Western Block

The leaders of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) gathered in Johannesburg last week in what is likely to be a pivotal meeting for the bloc’s trajectory. Russian President Vladimir Putin did not attend due to an International Criminal Court warrant. But Moscow and Beijing pushed for the group’s expansion in a bid to strengthen the bloc as an alternative to the U.S.-led liberal international order and as a counterweight to the Group of 7 (G7) and other Western-led alignments.

Along those lines, it was
announced that six additional nations are joining BRICS at the start of 2024. They are Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the oil producers the UAE, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. Over 40 more countries have applied to join revealing a major shift in world power from west to east.

The Petrodollar was used by the entire world decades ago. Now, only the Western allies of the United States are still using dollars to conduct trade and buy oil. That is, only half the world, not all the world. Half of the world population—contained in the BRICS 11—will not be.

Conclusion
Either way, how the Petrodollar ends does not matter, it will surely end as it seems inevitable Satan’s assault on America will continue unabated. Either way, if the Petrodollar goes away it spells a decline in Americans’ standard of living with the dollar continuing into high inflation.

Saudi-Israel Agreement: Precursor To Antichrist’s Covenant With Israel?

“And he, [Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven years] and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate…”
Daniel 9:27

One of the key events of the end-times is a coming peace treaty between Israel and her neighbors which, according to this verse, will be brokered by Antichrist.

Antichrist is going to make a covenant or treaty many nations along with the Palestinians and Israel for a seven-year period of time.

In the middle of that seven years [3.5 years], he will invade Israel [Zech. 14:1-3] and put an end to sacrifices and offerings by capturing Israel’s newly rebuilt temple and killing God’s special Two-Witnesses [Rev. 11].

Confirm A Covenant

The first part of the above
passage tells us that he will “confirm” a covenant with Israel for seven years. Bible translations differ, saying he will “make a covenant,” “compel a covenant,” or “make a strong covenant.” Some take it as a covenant that already exists, while others suggest Antichrist will compel this covenant, bringing the parties to the table and giving them a take-it-or-leave-it deal. 

Whatever the exact meaning, there’s one thing that’s clear: Antichrist is going to forge a sweeping peace agreement between Israel and her neighbors that’s going to have to do with the Temple Mount area and allowing Israel to renew their sacrificial system. The signing of this covenant will mark the start of the seven-year Tribulation. 

Is Peace Possible

Recent events strikingly foreshadow this coming peace compact. August 13th was the third anniversary of the announcement of the Abraham Accords, which were ratified the following month. These arrangements heralded a new beginning of peace in the Middle East as several Arab nations agreed to normalize relations with Israel.

The previous five American presidents tried everything they could with Palestinian leaders and failed. Finally, that streak was broken by President Trump with the Abraham Accords, which resulted in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan all signing peace treaties and normalized relations with Israel. That added to Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994, bringing the current total to six neighboring nations.

But the biggest prize of the Middle East is clearly Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Netanyahu has called the normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia one of the primary reasons he sought to return to power in Israel.

Last week, a top Israeli diplomat said that a normalization agreement would be “a historic opportunity for a peace process that will change the face of the Middle East and the whole world.” That’s a dramatic statement in light of Bible prophecy.

Headlines

A lot of headlines about this are very striking to me:

Times of Israel — “Foreign Minister Cohen to Arabic outlet: Israel will make gestures to Palestinians for Saudi deal.” Israel is willing to make some concessions to the Palestinians to make this deal happen.

Times of Israel — “Any deal must be done before Biden leaves office, Israel reportedly tells Saudis.” They believe this is going to have to happen before President Biden leaves office, which obviously, doesn’t give a lot of time.

Times of Israel — “Leading Saudi columnist says it’s ‘highly likely’ peace with Israel is possible.” 

Wall Street Journal —  “Saudis Agree with U.S. on Path to Normalize Kingdom’s Ties With Israel” subtitle, “Officials are negotiating details of agreement they hope to cement within nine-to-12 months, though obstacles remain.”

Before March 2024


Some say the US wants to wrap all of this up by next March. You can imagine the political reasons. This would be a huge feather in the cap for President Biden during his run for reelection to be able to be in the middle of this deal or take credit for it.

Of course the major obstacle, as always, is the Palestinian question. What’s going to happen with the Palestinians? What’s Israel going to have to give up? What’s Saudi Arabia going to demand to have normalized relations?

Jordan Move Aside

Last Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Jordan presented his credentials to begin serving as Saudi Arabia’s first-ever non-resident ambassador to the State of Palestine.

This unprecedented power move is a signal to Jordan that Saudi Arabia, who now controls Islam’s two holiest sites of Mecca and Medina, feels it’s time they take control of Islam’s third most holy site also which is the al-Aqsa
Mosque on the Temple Mount. 

Peace With the Palestinians


In addition to signaling that the Saudi’s want control of the Temple Mount to Jordan, Saudi Arabia also appointed its first envoy to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.


This is the second bombshell, a move seen as a signal to Israel and the United States that if Saudi Arabia and Israel are to normalize relations it will take a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians to get it accomplished. Therefore, Saudi Arabia has now taken the lead to establish a legal channel in helping negotiate peace between the Palestinian’s and Israel. 

Saudi Arabia, Head of Islam

Keep in mind that Saudi Arabia is the head of Islam and the highest Muslim authority on earth and the caretaker of the Quran and the Islamic holy sites. It’s also fair to say the Quran is not kind to the Jewish people… that’s an understatement. So the very notion of Saudi Arabia making peace with Israel is stunning in itself. But add to that, these two announcements and we can begin to see a path for how Israel would be allowed to build their temple on the Temple Mount. If Israel and Saudi Arabia establish formal and friendly relations and Saudi Arabia controls the Temple Mount, then for the first time a mutual negotiation can be made for Israel’s Temple to share the Temple Mount with the Muslim holy sites.

Sharing the Temple Mount

A sharing relationship for Israel’s temple on the Temple Mount is exactly what the Apostle John suggests will happen in Revelation 11:1-2. John describes Israel’s new temple site as not having enough room for the outer courts causing them to share it with the Gentiles [pagans]. 

The fact that Saudi Arabia has placed an envoy in the Palestinian Authority and has signaled to Jordan they want control of the Temple Mount opens the door to a peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia and a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians and provides a way for Israel to build their Temple on the Temple Mount.

There are a lot of moving parts to this agreement. The US additionally wants Saudi Arabia to roll back some of its growing ties with China, which of course, would help the United States.

This peace process may be complicated and fraught with difficulties, but the fact that it is even being discussed is astounding. Who would have believed a few years ago that the head of Islam would want peace with the Jewish State? This was never even a possibility! But now here we are, with this prophetic scenario lining up.

Next Event, the Rapture

The next event on God’s prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church. Sometime after the rapture, and after the emergence of the ten-king empire, Antichrist is going to catapult onto the world scene, and his major breakthrough will be to broker this comprehensive peace deal for Israel that allows the Jews to rebuild the temple and begin offering sacrifices. That path is now getting much closer which means the Tribulation is getting closer! 

The rapture will move the final pieces into place. Antichrist will rise into the chaos and aftermath of the rapture to bring this Middle East peace deal. We are witnessing the setup for that coming treaty right before our eyes. 

I don’t know about you, but I consider it a great privilege to live in these times. It’s incredible to see the things that are prophesied so clearly in the Bible. My prayer for myself and all of us is that we will live faithfully in light of our Lord’s imminent return!

Fourteen major American cities are part of a globalist climate organization known as the ‘C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group’, which has an ‘ambitious target’ by the year 2030 of ‘0 kg of meat consumption’, ‘0 kg of dairy consumption’, ‘3 new clothing items per person per year’, ‘0 private vehicles’ owned, and ‘1 short-haul return flight every 3 years per person.’

If the question is ‘is there a plan by highly-funded and shadowy organizations to use climate intimidation to take away all animal products, fossil fuel and private vehicle ownership?’, the answer is a resounding ‘yes!’ It is happening all around us, and in fact, the people behind this are no longer trying to hide it. The UN brags about it in their ‘Agenda 2030’, and King Charles has already called for a ‘military-style campaign’ costing trillions of dollars to make it happen. What a gem he is!

Now a pilot program to best determine how these things will be implemented is already underway, dealing with what they call ‘consumption-based emissions’. In order to get rid of that, people will no longer be allowed to eat meat, dairy products or privately own vehicles of their own choosing. This will be led by blind leaders who are leading blind people through organizations like the United Nations. Governments around the world will pass Climate Change mandates into law, and just like that, your choices will no longer be your choices.

The organization is headed and largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Israel Strikes Terrorist Targets

This past week brought the sounds of loud blasts to the Damascus suburb of Qudsaya. Although Israel remains mute on their participation, most believe the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were on the delivering end of the attack.

There have been at least 22 strikes by Israel on Syria this calendar year. According to residents of the area, “warehouses of pro-Iran militias” were destroyed in the attack.
Wednesday night saw a lot of action in the West Bank, as, first, Israeli security arrested a suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting. Second, eight Palestinians were wounded by IDF forces when they attacked Jewish worshippers visiting Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem. Finally, the IDF and Border Police united to destroy an explosives laboratory and warehouse at the Balata refugee camp.

Israel’s Economy is Doing Just Fine

Instead of running around and crying out, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”, the progressive left media has been warning, “Israel’s economy is collapsing!” What’s the reason for the spike in inflation rates and stumbling of the shekel? Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu and his judicial reform, of course. But just like Chicken Little’s prediction of doom was foolish and wrong, so is the media’s.

The inflation rate in Israel has been shrinking ever since Netanyahu got in office. The country’s credit rating, which they said would fall sharply, remains at A+. And our unemployment rate continues to be one of the lowest in the world.

The anti-Netanyahu campaign across Israel is organized and orchestrated, coming from advertising companies owned by multi-millionaires who are determined to topple this government. But, so far, despite all the money they’ve thrown into this hit job, it’s only their finances that have felt the blow.

Expanding Global Relationships for Israel

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has announced that Paraguay will open its embassy in Jerusalem this year. Somewhat following the lead of their almost-neighbor to the north, Uruguay has said that they will open a diplomatic mission in Jerusalem.

Israeli relations also continue to grow in Asia. On Wednesday, Israeli minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat was in Hanoi to sign an agreement to launch the first direct flights between Israel and Vietnam. The flights between Hanoi and Tel Aviv will launch in October.

Israel Launches New High-Tech Submarine

There was no fanfare when Israel’s newest submarine was launched from Kiel, Germany. But there was a lot of interest. A variation of the Dolphin-II class, this boat, named the INS Drakon (Dragon), is longer than its predecessors and sports a huge sail. The sail is the tower that rises from the sub’s topside.

The speculation is that the reason for its size is that this is the first modern submarine designed to launch missiles from its sail. The missiles are believed to be ballistic, possibly carrying nuclear payloads, and will be fired vertically from the boat.

Ukraine Evacuating Settlements after Failed Counterattack

Following Ukraine’s failed counterattack against Russian forces, Kyiv is ordering mandatory evacuations in the northeastern Kharkiv region. In Kupiansk, the city military administration issued an announcement requiring Ukrainian citizens to leave dozens of towns and villages near the front.

Meanwhile, Stian Jenssen, the chief of staff to the NATO secretary general, ill-advisedly told a panel audience on Tuesday, “I think that a solution could be for Ukraine to give up territory and get NATO membership in return.” The Kyiv government went ballistic. The next day, Jenssen walked back his statement, saying it was “a mistake”.

Assad Opposition Growing Stronger in Syria

The cheering you may be hearing from Syria is likely coming from the anti-Assad Sunni rebels. As Russia is forced to regularly and rapidly pull troops out of Syria to send to Ukraine, the rebel attacks on the Syrian army grow stronger and bolder. Another group benefitting from a smaller Russian presence and a distracted Syrian military is ISIS. They have been targeting and massacring Syrian soldiers at an alarming rate.

Just last Thursday, after waylaying an army bus near Mayadeen, in Deir Ezzor province, the ISIS terrorists surrounded the vehicle and opened fire. Thirty-three soldiers on board were slaughtered. Finally, on Monday night, Damascus rocked with the sound of a huge explosion as an ammunition warehouse northeast of the city blew apart. No one has claimed responsibility for that blast, but undoubtedly Israel is celebrating a job well done.

US Department of Treasury Sanctions Lebanese Environmental Group

Green Without Borders (GWB) is a Lebanese NGO that claims to promote agribusiness models for small-scale producers. Instead, what GWB and its director, Zuhair Subhi Nahla, promote is the terrorist group Hezbollah. The organization set up outposts near the Israeli border under the guise of environmental research. What these locations actually housed were Hezbollah members, weapons training ranges, ammunition storage, and other terrorism-related facilities.

As a result, the US Department of Treasury has issued sanctions on this fake environmental front. The heavy influence of Hezbollah in Lebanon continues to destroy the country. The Syrian lira has lost 60% of its value in less than a month-and-a-half. Today, it was trading at around 16,000 lira to one US dollar. At the airport, there is no electricity. It is currently functioning on a generator.

I pray that somehow the Lebanese people will find a way to escape from under the thumb of this terrorist organization before Hezbollah and its evil leader, Hassan Nasrallah, throw them into a war with Israel that they can’t possibly win.

US Pays Iran for Prisoners Biden does it again!

The United States does not pay ransom for hostages. As you read this story, just keep repeating that phrase to yourself. In what was not a ransom for hostages transaction, the Biden administration has agreed to release $6 billion from South Korea and five Iranians held prisoner in the US to Iran in exchange for the release of five American citizens who are detained in Tehran.

The convoluted justification for this action is something like, “What’s the problem? We’re simply swapping five prisoners for five prisoners…. What? Oh yeah, plus $6 billion.”

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called this a “dangerous precedent”, then declared what everybody recognizes, “This will only encourage more hostage taking by the Iranian terrorists.” Could it possibly be that this has anything to do with greasing the skids for a new Iran nuclear agreement? Hmmmm…. stay tuned!

Iran’s Proxies Attack US Bases in Syria

In a story that should be more connected to the previous one than it apparently is, a new Iran-sponsored terrorist organization calling itself the “Popular Resistance in the Eastern Region” claims to have carried out three attacks using rockets and drones on American bases in northeastern Syria. The three attacks, which the group claims to have carried out on Saturday, were directed at US military facilities in the Shadadi, Konikho, and Omar oil and gas fields.

Muslim Mob Attacks Churches in Pakistan

Angry over allegations that a Christian man had desecrated a Quran, Muslim mobs went on a rampage yesterday attacking churches. One church was burned, while two more were ransacked and damaged. In addition, numerous Christian homes were attacked.

The violence increased today with Christians being beaten to death and thrown from heights. The US has close relations with Pakistan. What is the administration in Washington doing to stop this? Where are the human rights groups? Is it because these are only Christians being killed that the world is ignoring this story?

Niger Junta to Prosecute Former President for Treason

The future for ousted Niger President Mohamed Bazoum is looking bleak. The ruling military junta has declared that it will prosecute the imprisoned president on charges of treason. Junta spokesperson Colonel Amadou Abdramane stated that they had “gathered the necessary evidence to prosecute the ousted president…for high treason and undermining the internal and external security of Niger.”

Wildfires Ravage Maui

The death toll has risen to 106 in the wildfires that devasted the Hawaiian island of Maui. Property loss estimates have reached a minimum of $3.2 billion, with more than 5200 homes destroyed or damaged by flames or smoke. No sooner had the fire died down than out-of-state buyers swept in offering to purchase the land of victims who had lost their houses. As a result, Hawaii Governor Josh Green is seeking to put a moratorium on land purchasers from outside the state.

Government Approved News?

Bill C-11 that passed not long ago in Canada supposedly only regulates broadcasters, including providers of both traditional broadcasting services and online streaming services. However, social media giants, in their attempt to avoid paying royalties to broadcasters (as is required in the new bill), are simply removing news channels from their platforms. This is a novel way for governments to limit news consumption to only the regulated channels, and, by doing so, to control the content people are consuming. It is not only Canada where this is happening. Governments worldwide are doing all they can to become the final arbiters of what news their citizens can partake in.

Palestinians Fear Israel’s Red Cows

Scared of a baby cow? Palestinians say what’s behind the red cows is that Israel is planning to build the Third Temple to destroy Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. The source of their concern is a report on the Israeli government funding a project to raise a red heifer, whose ashes, according to Torah law, can purify Jews so they can start bringing sacrifices again.Arabs are up in arms over a supposed Israeli government plot to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque by rebuilding the Third Temple in its place in Jerusalem, following a recent report on Israel’s Channel 12 that several ministries are funding efforts to raise a red heifer, which is considered a prerequisite for the coming of the Messiah.

How timely! A TV Special running on Israeli television about Israel’s Red Heifers and the coming Third Temple!

Palestinian officials and commentators in Arab media from Al Jazeera to Jordanian news sites and Gazan TV wholly accepted the report, which centered on Israel’s religious coalition turning Israel into a religious state. The report has put fear in Israel’s enemies.

Al Jazeera cited Dr. Saleh Lutfi, “a researcher in Jewish, Zionist, and political affairs,” as saying that in light of the current Palestinian and regional circumstances, the time is ripe for the Netanyahu government to “realize the myth of building the alleged ‘Third Temple.’”

Lutfi also claims that the idea of rebuilding the Temple “has become rooted even among large segments of the Israeli secular and liberal movement, as well as among the circles of the so-called Jewish Zionist left.”

On the Hamas station, Al-Aqsa, Dr. Shihab went so far as to say that “the Israeli government has a plan to cause a religious war in the region” and that bringing red heifers to Jerusalem shows that “the fascist Israeli government encourages the settlers to continue harming Al-Aqsa mosque.”
The time of Israel’s temple is getting closer. Five red heifers were brought to Israel in September 2022 after being raised in Texas. One of them was brought last month to Shiloh, where the Tabernacle stood for over 300 years prior to the first Temple’s construction. Along with two others, the heifer will be at the heart of a planned Heritage Center to attract tourism to the site.

According to Numbers 19, a purely red heifer is the only animal whose ashes can be used to purify Jews so they can serve in the Temple and bring sacrifices. There is a host of requirements that the animal must meet, and none has been found in 2,000 years. It seems the arrival of these qualified red heifers has the enemy shaking in their boots… if they only knew what was really coming!
