The Just
Shall Live By Faith

We have all just witnessed the disastrous Biden visit to Eastern Europe.  In the space of just a few days, Biden threatened Russia with a chemical weapons attack, told American troops that they would soon be fighting in Ukraine, and threatened to assassinate Vladimir Putin.  Things have gotten so bad that even deep state players realize Biden is a liability and may need to be removed from power.

The behind-the-scenes political intrigue going on in Washington, D.C. means America is at a level of danger not seen since the Civil War.

The problem with removing Joe is that the V.P. may be worse! And since Pelosi comes after Harris we find ourselves in a political no-win situation. How did we get here so fast? Where’s God?

The Old Testament prophet Habakkuk saw the rapidly deteriorating spiritual condition of his nation, yet God didn’t seem interested in doing anything about it. That frustrated Habakkuk, and he let God know. “God,” he said, “things are horrible around here and getting worse. You can’t trust the leadership. They’re lying to the people. Things are really bad, Lord, and You’re not lifting a hand to stop any of it.”

God responded, “Habakkuk, if I told you what I was doing, your ears would tingle.” Then the Lord began to tell the prophet how He intended to bring the Babylonians as His instrument of judgment against the nation of Judah.

Habakkuk never expected to hear that and cried out, “Lord, wait a minute—that’s not fair! We’re bad, yes; but they are much worse than we are. Why would You use a nation more wicked than Judah to punish Your own people?”* Habakkuk concluded, “I don’t understand this at all. I’ll just go into my tower and wait to see what You do.”

As he sat in the watch tower, watching to see how God would act, the Word that the Lord gave Habakkuk is pertinent to believers living in America today.

“The just shall live by his faith”
Habakkuk 2:4b

Through these words, the Lord was explaining to him, “Habakkuk, you are going to have to trust Me. You’re not going to understand. You’re going to see things that will shake you—but the just shall live by faith.”

Like Habakkuk, American’s who love the Lord and are watching the corruption and steep moral decline of our country also feel shaken by what God’s judgment has brought upon our land!

But in contrast to the proud and insolent rulers of the world, the just will be preserved through faithfulness to God. From Habakkuk and the Apostle Paul (Romans 1:17; Gal. 3:11) we learn that faith is not a one-time act, but a way of life. We are citizens of a better country not made by hands and so we are to, “seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God” (Col. 3:1).

This great declaration of God—“The just shall live by faith”—is like saying, God’s Sovereignty is My Sanity!

Habakkuk had to accept God’s plans over his personal expectations for Israel!

When difficulty rises, or when confronted with uncertainty, doubt, or fear, we can run to Him and find shelter from the storm. How do you access the spiritual promises of God? You do it by faith.

Is A New World Order Coming? Both Biden and Putin have evoked a “New World Order” in the context of the Ukraine War. Should we be worried?

Is A New World Order Coming? Both Biden and Putin have evoked a “New World Order” in the context of the Ukraine War. Should we be worried?

For Christians who believe that truth matters, I’d like to offer my opinion on what I perceive are the widely misused terms of the New World Order, Globalists and the Great Reset. These hot button phrases are misleading and confusing and are western ideals but not biblical concepts. I’d like to encourage serious students of the Bible to rethink the topic of a one-world government in the last days!

The throwback conspiracy theory known as the “New World Order” is enjoying a renaissance.

President Biden mentioned the “new world order” in mid-March at a Business Roundtable meeting, “Now is a time when things are shifting,” Biden said when asked about the United States’ response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “There’s going to be a new world order out there, and we’ve got to lead it.”

Biden’s comments came not long after conspiracy theorists pounced on a remark by a Ukrainian MP during a recent interview with Fox News. “We not only fight for Ukraine; we fight for this new world order for the democratic countries,” Kira Rudyk said in the interview.

Due to the proliferation of fringe narratives on social media that cast Ukraine as a pawn in a supposed nefarious scheme by global elites, the new world order conspiracy has gained new lifeblood.

Whenever “new world order” is mentioned by a world leader it seems like American Christians and prophecy social media circles, go wild with claims that, “this is It,” and the “one-world movement” is finally here.”

When President George Bush used the phrase New World Order in his speech in 1990, those in the Bible prophecy community went bonkers. This was IT. This was the Beast of Revelation 13 which means the reign of Antichrist and the return of Jesus was right around the corner!

Ignored was the context of Bush’s statement which only reflected a post-Soviet Union, post-Cold War era where there were no more competing superpowers, but a flexible realignment of military power to address things like Saddam Hussein’s recent invasion of Kuwait.

But as is always the case with conspiracy theories, the lack of a full context feeds the deception. Christian Bible prophecy folks had already made up their minds that the “New World Order” or “Globalism” WAS what the Bible was referring to in Revelation – it HAD to be. But the context of Bush’s words (or Biden’s for that matter) are not what the Bible describes.

For 30+ years since then, Bible prophecy teachers have been filling up YouTube and Telegram with “Globalists” this and “Globalism” that, as if it’s a biblical concept and you MUST agree or you are… wait for it… one of “THEM.”

And now we can add “The Great Reset” to the list… thanks a lot COVID. Yet another nothingburger. The Great Reset is allegedly about the “global elite” using COVID to dismantle capitalism and enforce radical social change to make way in America for something like communism. There are certainly many who would like to see America turned into a communist state but that isn’t proof we’re on the verge of a one-world government taking over.

Instead of an articulate study of biblical end-time events, conservative Christians just keep getting stuck on the latest one worldism news and keep driving up book sales with scary titles. Instead, we would do well to remember that Satan’s deceptions and man’s inventions are always shiny objects appealing to the flesh.

One World Government, the New World Order and the Great Reset are in reality, non-biblical, western concepts. This is not to say there is no such thing as “globalism” or that many leftist politicians do not seek to advance a “post-Christian” worldview. It exists and so do they, but it’s the assumptions to shoehorn their beliefs into Bible prophecy that confuses many.

These catch-all phrases may be a path that some western elites would like to see prevail but the concepts bely the reality of our world today. One-worldism is not taught in Bible prophecy and Christians should not assume it’s coming! Yet most do. Although taught by many, a one-world government doesn’t align with the scripture about Israel, the nations and the world in the last days.

Any discussion about a “great reset” or “new world order” must consider two crucial factors.

Non-Western Nations

First, consider the other half of the world before jumping to conclusions. Non-western countries, anti-American and anti-Israel countries who are difficult for the west to engage with will never surrender their autonomy for a western globalist agenda.

That would be the unpardonable sin for Muslim nations who make up one-quarter of the world’s population. Islam’s footprint includes 57 countries dedicated to the demise of the west and the fulfillment of the Quran. If you think they’re locking arms with the great reset you are badly mistaken! If given the opportunity (which comes during the Tribulation) they would choose Jihad over appeasing anything that has to do with western ideals. A host of a hundred terror groups and bad actors like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey and others are fully dedicated to the notion of destroying Israel, America, the west in general and Christianity in particular.

And what about nuclear equipped China with another 25% of earth’s population? They’re not about to renounce their communist dreams and eastern hegemony for the western myth of a New World Order. The same could be said about nuclear armed North Korea and Pakistan.

And what about Israel who now sees itself positioned as one of the top nuclear and technological nations in the world? Despite Israel’s close relationship with the U.S. she will never forfeit control or capitulate to western political influence that would limit her self-reliance. That would be irresponsible because she made that mistake once too often.

And let’s not forget Russia. How can we forget Russia? Russia and her allies have never had an interest in western ideals and especially not something like Biden’s new world order or the western notion of some “great reset.” Here come the nuclear bombs!

So when you think about it, over half the world holds an anti-western viewpoint. Get the picture here?

How is it possible then to look at the world condition and conclude we’re on the verge of a one-world government?

What Does Bible Prophecy Say

Secondly, does Bible prophecy teach we should anticipate a one-world government?

Jesus removed the possibility of a one-world government when he prophesied that there would be “wars and rumors of wars… and nations will rise against nations” (Mt. 24:6-7).

This prophecy would not make sense if there was only one government in the Tribulation. How could that work? How can there be war with only one government that is supposedly ruled by Antichrist? If the supposed “one-world” government controls everything and everyone, and if it controls 100% of earth’s economy, where do the military’s and finances come from for the outbreak of wars described all throughout the Tribulation?

At the outset of the Tribulation, God sends forth the “Four Horses of the Apocalypse” and the second horse is the red horse of war,

“And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.”

Revelation 6:4

The red horse prophecy announces that God is removing peace from the earth and replacing it with the continual spirit of war. The prophet Daniel adds, “wars are decreed unto the end” (Dan. 9:26) which in context points to the end of the Tribulation. War after war after war means lots of nations opposing Antichrist and trying to fend off the Caliphate from conquering them.

This may come as a surprise but, although he tries, Antichrist never has dominion over the whole world. You can read more about this HERE.

Is A New World Order Coming? Both Biden and Putin have evoked a “New World Order” in the context of the Ukraine War. Should we be worried?

Ukraine’s Lessons For Israel

By Caroline Glick
Edited by Tim Buck

In the months and weeks that led up to Russia’s Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine, Western powers signaled clearly that they were prepared to accept the disappearance of Ukraine as an independent state.

U.S. President Joe Biden virtually invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to invade in late January when he said that a “minor incursion” would leave NATO flat-footed. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, like his predecessor Angela Merkel, served as the Kremlin’s unofficial spokesman in Europe.

But once Russian forces invaded, the West’s plans to yell a bit and look away went awry. The Ukrainians failed to play their assigned role of Paschal lambs. Instead, they rallied around their flag and their president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

For his part, Zelensky captivated the hero-starved West. His rejoinder, when the Biden administration offered to evacuate him from Ukraine on the second day of the war, “I don’t need a ride, I need ammunition,” reminded Americans of a time when they weren’t being attacked for being transphobic or systemically racist, a time when patriotism was permitted.

Once Americans and other Western audiences got a whiff of Ukrainian nationalism, it became politically impossible for Washington, Brussels, Berlin, Paris and London to turn their backs on Kyiv. And so, with little deliberation, Biden and his European counterparts announced a series of unprecedented financial and economic
sanctions on Russia and massive shipments of arms and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

For a moment, it was possible to wonder whether Russia’s reminder that the problems of the world cannot be reduced to the pronouns one uses or the amount of carbon one burns on an average day would change the focus of Western elites. But it was not to be. The ruling classes in Brussels and Washington made clear that the war in Ukraine would not steer them off course.

While Poland is giving refuge to nearly two-thirds of the 3 million Ukrainians who have fled their homes, and Hungary has taken in 10% of them, the E.U. parliament passed economic sanctions against both nations last week. Their crime? The nationalist governments in Warsaw and Budapest refuse to toe Brussels’ line on Muslim immigration and LGBTQ indoctrination.

As for the Biden administration, Ukraine’s fight for national survival in the face of Russian aggression is all well and good. But appeasing Iran is the Biden administration’s top priority. And Biden can’t appease Iran without Russia. So to keep Russia on board with his administration’s efforts to close a deal with Iran, Biden agreed to cut Russia’s lucrative business with Iran out of the sanctions.

Russia can expect to receive $10 billion developing Iran’s nuclear installations and billions more in arms sales. The implications for Ukraine are clear: The US is willing to let them fight the Russians, but will not help the Ukrainians defeat Russia, because the United States cares more about empowering Iran than helping Ukraine survive.

The deal that Biden is concluding with Iran is itself a stunning testament to the radicalism of the Biden team and its refusal to let reality interfere with its policies. It will provide Iran with $90 billion from sanctions relief. That astronomical sum guarantees massive cash infusions into the coffers of Iran’s in-house global terrorist organization–the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which Biden is set to remove from the State Department’s list of foreign terrorist organizations–and to Iran’s terror armies in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Syria and the Gaza Strip.

Iran will have the funds to expand its missile and drone capabilities. And thanks to the lax restrictions it will face on its nuclear operations, it will become a nuclear threshold state by 2025 at the latest.

Although the West’s progressive agenda necessarily limits the support it is willing to provide Ukraine, the West’s ruling classes need to placate their publics, who admire Ukraine, compelling them to provide significant if not determinative military, humanitarian and political assistance to Kyiv. And given Ukraine’s willingness to fight it out with Russia, that support may be sufficient to enable Ukraine to withstand Russia’s assault for long enough to maintain its independence.

The widespread assessment today is that the Ukrainians will be able to continue fighting, despite Russia’s clear military superiority, for another month or six weeks. Given the high losses the Ukrainians are inflicting on the Russians, and assuming that the Russians begin to feel the full impact of the economic and financial sanctions within the next two to three weeks, it is possible that by mid-April, the Ukrainians will be able to negotiate ceasefire terms with Russia that will leave the country independent and more or less intact.

There is a moral to this story for Israel.

Ukrainians can still hope for and expect a future of freedom and independence because they have refused to bow before either Russia or to the West.

If Israel were paying attention to the dynamics at work in the West’s behavior towards Ukraine, it would be adopting policies opposite to those it is currently pursuing, both in relation to Ukraine and Russia and in relation to the West.

Unlike Zelensky, who hasn’t hesitated to call the United States and Germany out for their fence-sitting, the Bennett-Lapid-Gantz government has subordinated all Israeli policies to the Biden administration’s agenda.

If Israel were putting its own interests first, as Zelensky has, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett wouldn’t be trying to mediate between Zelensky and Putin. Instead, Israel would make do with a simple but clear message: Israel supports Ukraine’s sovereign independence and territorial integrity and calls on Russia to end its offensive operations.

Israel ought not and need not go beyond that statement.

The reasons for this are obvious. This is not Israel’s war, and words have consequences. Israel cannot mediate this conflict because it has no leverage over either actor to persuade them to compromise.

As for the significance of words, in order to succeed, a mediator has to be perceived by both sides as someone who accepts the basic legitimacy of their positions. But as a threatened democracy, it is a dangerous proposition for Israel to accept Russia’s view that Ukraine has no right to exist as an independent and distinct nation-state.

When the next round of “mediation” between Israel and the Palestinians begins, how will Israel be able to demand that any prospective mediator reject out of hand the Palestinians’ position that the Jewish state has no right to exist?

This brings us to the second policy Israel should be adopting in the face of the war in Ukraine. Israel should be devoting all of its efforts on the ground to rapidly facilitating the mass aliyah of Ukrainian Jewry. As it stands, there are 10,000 Ukrainian Jews waiting to make aliyah.

Instead of processing their applications, the Foreign Ministry is giving them appointments at consulates and embassies in Warsaw, Budapest and Bucharest three and six months from now and filling planes with non-Jews instead. Non-Jewish Ukrainians, it bears noting, have no problem resettling in the countries bordering Ukraine and throughout Europe. Yet, as 10,000 Ukrainian Jews are forced to wait for months to come to Israel, 10,000 non-Jewish Ukrainians have been airlifted to Israel.

This brings us to Israel’s real problems–Iran, the Palestinians and the Biden administration.

Zelensky’s fierce defense of his country, and the Ukrainian people’s refusal to stand down in the face of Russia’s advance, have compelled the Biden administration to support Ukraine even at the risk of a world war because the Ukrainians are standing for the values of freedom and independence that the United States is supposed to personify on the world stage.

If Israel were to take a page from Ukraine’s playbook, its leaders would be attacking the immorality of the Biden administration’s capitulation to Iran’s demands in the appeasement talks in Vienna.

The Bennett-Lapid-Gantz government’s silence in the face of Biden’s abdication of moral and strategic leadership in the Middle East undermines the efforts of Israel’s supporters in Congress and the international community. The Republicans, for instance, are compelled to explain why they are more opposed to Biden’s capitulation to Iran than the Israeli government is.

Then there are Israel’s Arab partners. The Saudis and the Emiratis have been more outspoken in their opposition to Biden’s Iran policies than Israel. The Arab leaders in the Gulf look at the silent, supine Israeli government in astonishment and distrust. The strategic consequences are already tangible. Rather than redouble their cooperation with Jerusalem, the Saudis and the Emiratis are setting their sights on Moscow and Beijing.

The situation with the Palestinians is also disturbing, and speaks clearly to the destructive implications of Bennett’s decision to play mediator between Russia and Ukraine.

Two weeks ago, Congress passed an omnibus spending bill, which Biden signed. With AIPAC’s support, the bill contained a section on Israel that significantly downgraded the U.S. commitment to the Jewish state.

The section on Israel was an amended version of a law that passed initially in 2012, and required the United States to “assist” and “support the Government of Israel” in its ongoing talks with the Palestinians. The new law deleted the part about supporting Israel. Under the new law, the United States is obligated to support “a negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict resulting in two states living side by side in peace, security, and mutual recognition.”

In other words, under the amended law, the United States is committed to supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state, whether Israel supports it or not.

Sen. Ted Cruz has fought since last July to block the passage of this amendment because he recognized the damage it was liable to do both to U.S.-Israel ties and to Israel’s national security. The Israeli Embassy, on the other hand, was less concerned.

Senate sources explain that Israel’s diplomats were nowhere to be found as Cruz fought adoption of the amendment.

The worst aspect of the amended law is that it wasn’t initiated by the usual anti-Israel forces in the so-called “Squad.” AIPAC supported the amendment, and so did mainstream Republican senators, like the ranking Republican on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, James Risch, and Sen. Rob Portman.

The implications are clear. When Israel opts to remain silent as its interests and position are undermined, not only does it strengthen its enemies, it loses its friends.

After Russia invaded Ukraine, many Ukrainians told Israeli reporters on the scene that they were inspired by Israel, which has always fought its own battles and survived even in the face of global indifference and hostility. Today, the opposite should be the case.

Israel’s government must learn from the Ukrainians. The West will not fight for a threatened democracy. States that wait for green lights from the West to defend themselves will not survive. But states that defend themselves will see sufficient forces rally to their side to enable them to persevere and survive.

Russian Oligarch Yacht

Parked in Turkey

A Russian pair of yachts belonging to Chelsea soccer club owner and sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich have docked at resorts in Turkey, according to the Associated Press.

Turkey has not imposed economic sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine last month, nor has it frozen assets belonging to top Russian businessmen linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The private DHA news agency said Tuesday the Bermuda-registered Eclipse docked in the resort of Marmaris.

A day earlier, Abramovich’s Bermuda-flagged luxury yacht My Solaris arrived in the nearby resort of Bodrum, triggering a protest by a group of Ukrainians who boarded a small motorboat and tried to prevent the yacht from docking.

NATO member Turkey has close ties to both Russia and Ukraine. It has criticized Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine but has also positioned itself as a neutral party trying to mediate between the two.

I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

The Black Horse
– Food Shortage –

Wheat shortages are prophesied in Revelation 6 to begin near the start of the Tribulation. But wheat shortages are already becoming a reality and predicted to get much worse THIS YEAR! How close are we getting to the coming, 7-year Tribulation period?

The headline on the above weather map that was just released read, “Severe Drought and Dust Bowl Conditions Threaten to Create a Disastrous Winter Wheat Harvest in the U.S.” When I saw the headline I thought to myself, “this is exactly what we don’t need right now.” But I caught myself and my next thought was that God doesn’t always give the world what it needs because sometimes a season comes when God gives the world not what they need but what they deserve!

Food prices in the U.S. have already been soaring, and now we are on track for an absolutely horrible winter wheat harvest in the heart of the American bread basket. Due to extreme drought, winter wheat is in very bad shape in states such as Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Of course this comes at a time when the war in Ukraine is going to greatly reduce wheat exports from Russia and Ukraine. Over the last 12 months, the price of wheat has already risen 69 percent, and now the crisis threatens to go to an entirely new level.

By the end of 2022, we are going to witness serious shortages of food in many parts of the globe. In fact, World Bank President David Malpass is openly admitting that we are now facing “a huge supply shock” as a result of the war in Ukraine.

We were already moving into a global food crisis even before the war erupted.  According to the UN, worldwide food prices in February 2022 were 20.7 percent higher than they were in February 2021, fertilizer prices have gone absolutely nuts, crop production is down all over the planet due to crazy weather patterns, and supply chain problems caused by the pandemic continue to create ongoing headaches.  But now that the war has erupted, it is going to push this rapidly growing global food crisis to a level that none of us have ever seen before.

Under normal conditions, Ukraine exports tremendous amounts of food and is considered to be one of the most important “breadbaskets” on the planet.

Unfortunately, everything has changed now, and this has pushed the global price of wheat up 55 percent since a week before the invasion happened…

Ukrainian farmers have been forced to neglect their fields as millions flee, fight or try to stay alive. Ports are shut down that send wheat and other food staples worldwide to be made into bread, noodles and animal feed. And there are worries Russia, another agricultural powerhouse, could have its grain exports upended by Western sanctions.

While there have not yet been global disruptions to wheat supplies, prices have surged 55% since a week before the invasion amid concerns about what could happen next. If the war is prolonged, countries that rely on affordable wheat exports from Ukraine could face shortages starting in July, International Grains Council director Arnaud Petit told The Associated Press.

Right now, the global price of food is the highest that it has ever been, and Russia and Ukraine normally account for “nearly a third of the world’s wheat and barley exports”.

Now that exports from Russia will be greatly reduced and exports from Ukraine will be virtually non-existent, some countries will almost immediately be facing extreme stress.

For example, just consider Lebanon.  The Lebanese normally get 60 percent of their wheat from Ukraine…

War-ravaged Syria recently announced it would cut spending and ration staples. In nearby Lebanon, where a massive explosion at the Beirut port in 2020 destroyed the country’s main grain silos, authorities are scrambling to make up for a predicted wheat shortage, with Ukraine providing 60% of its supply. They are in talks with the U.S., India and Canada to find other sources for a country already in financial meltdown.

Things are going to be very challenging in Europe as well…

Ukraine supplies Europe with 60% of its corn and nearly half of a key component in the grains needed to feed livestock.

Meanwhile, crops all over the world are in surprisingly poor shape because weather conditions have been so strange.

Israel wants to help Egypt find alternative sources of wheat. The majority of the country’s wheat is imported from Ukraine. Rising wheat prices stemming from Russia’s invasion are taking a toll on the Egyptian economy.

It’s is being projected that China’s wheat crop could also be disrupted.

The condition of China’s winter wheat crop could be the “worst in history”, the agriculture minister said on Saturday, raising concerns about grain supplies in the world’s biggest wheat consumer.

And the USDA is reporting that a whopping 71 percent of all winter wheat in the United States has been affected by drought

A limited supply of soft white wheat, the primary type of wheat grown in the Inland Northwest, has helped lead to a six-year low for wheat exports from the United States. That’s according to the USDA wheat report for February.

We struggle to feed the entire world even in the best of years, and this definitely is not going to be one of the best of years.

Another factor that can drive up the cost of food is soaring energy prices.

The national average of a gallon of gasoline in the United States has crossed the four dollar threshold.

For example, at one gas station in Los Angeles consumers are now paying about seven dollars a gallon to fill up their vehicles.

What would skyrocketing gas prices do to our economy?

This war is going to end up deeply affecting every man, woman and child on the planet.

Normal is not returning… Jesus is!

After Jesus raptures His church… He releases the Black Horse spirit of famine who rides forth bringing his shortage of wheat!

How could all these anticipated wheat and food shortages be happening simultaneously across the globe and also occurring in sink with the war on the “bread baskets” of Ukraine and Russia?

God’s Sovereignty is moving earth closer to the edge of the Tribulation. Grocery store food shelves began emptying during COVID. After two years of the plandemic, now this horrible war comes behind and is shaking earth to an even greater degree! What’s coming next is anyone’s guess but I suggest the church would be wise to start looking up!

It seems like the future food shortages are arriving sooner than anticipated and may possibly be God’s preplanned precursors to the Black Horse of famine in Revelation 6. Talk about a wheat shortage! The famine becomes so severe near the start of the Tribulation that those left behind will need to work a whole day just to be able to afford enough wheat to sustain them for another day! Death released by the pale horse follows closely behind the black horse of famine!

Did you notice that Revelation 6:6 specifically mentions a wheat shortage in the last days?

Based on the untimely war in Ukraine, we can now begin to envision a scenario where any one of the dramatic changes brought on by the war could become the lead domino to a much more unstable world.

domino effect or chain reaction is the cumulative effect produced when one event sets off a chain of connected events.

I’ve always envisioned the end times would unfold rapidly like a row of dominoes. It takes just one domino falling to unleash a major chain-reaction. We are living in the rising tide of darkness before the rapture of the church and the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia is like someone taking their finger and starting to apply pressure on the first domino.

The question is, will this Ukraine conflict and the moves countries are making in reaction to it be enough to trigger the final church-age, prophetic chain reaction?

Miraculous Answers To Prayer

Dear Friends of BIEM,

  1. Keep praying for the families of our Ukrainian missionaries who are waiting in Poland and Western Ukraine hoping to get visas to come to the United States. So far there are no emergency visas available. They are hoping that this will change when President Biden visits Poland on Friday. They base this on the fact that when Canada’s Prime Minister visited Poland, the government there quickly persuaded him to open Canada to Ukrainian war refugees. He did so, and so quickly that Canada was receiving Ukrainian war refugees in just 3 days!                                                                                                            Pray that our government will do the same.

    2. We have more and more people taking trips from western Ukraine, where they buy food, medicine, and supplies, to the war-torn areas in Central and Eastern Ukraine. They return with their cars, vans, and buses full of refugees fleeing the war.

    Miraculous Answer To Prayer

    3. Once again we are glad to report that none of our folks have been injured and none of the church buildings we have built have been hit. However, a bomb last night landed within 100 feet of the home of one of our families in Kyiv. An empty rocket shell landed in the neighbor’s garden. Please continue to pray for their safety.

    4. Last night one of our families received 37 refugees from Chernihiv who came in four vehicles. One vehicle broke down and they had to tow it which slowed them down so much that they did not arrive until 1 AM – well past the curfew. This band of refugees does not want to go to the west. They want to stay nearby so we are finding Christian homes willing to take them in that are not that far from Chernihiv but still considered safer.

Thank you for your concern and for praying for Ukraine and the Ukrainian People,
Sam Slobodian

The day after Russia started dropping missiles onUkraine, pastor Greg Laurie took to Facebook with a message. “To much of the world, current events may look like the unhinged machinations of a maniac intent on worldwide disruption. But to believers the war can be viewed as a sign of the second coming of Christ.” Is there any prophetic significance to what is happening in Ukraine right now? The answer is…Yes!

As always, when an end-time event as big as this war breaks out, the internet is ablaze with prophetic forums about the meaning of Russian’s invasion of Ukraine. We hear endless chatter about how Putin is Ezekiel’s Gog and that somehow the war in Ukraine will precipitate the Battle of Gog and Magog’s invasion into Israel because Putin is Antichrist so after Ukraine, Putin will most certainly invade Israel. And on and on it goes including the notion that we are now living in the 7-year Tribulation! Where do I begin?

I sometimes equate Bible prophecy teachers today like the wild, wild west and especially those who have never come to understand the Islamic paradigm in Bible prophecy and therefore have no anchor for interpreting world events. Instead of adhering to a careful, biblical study of the last days, prophecy prognosticators prefer to go off on current events and try to make them fit their version of end times. Sadly, most people don’t know the difference!

With regards to this horrific war, I do not believe it has anything to do with the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 and the war of Gog and Magog.  As I’ve taught HERE, HERE and HERE, the Battle of Gog and Magog is simply the Old Testament story that provides the believer with the details of the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation.

The book of Revelation is sparse on details for the Battle of Armageddon and the book of Daniel provides the foundation for just about every major prophecy in Revelation except the Battle of Armageddon. However, God uses the prophets of Ezekiel and Joel to give us all the details and fill in the gaps.

From these two great prophets, we have everything we need to know about this war and its dramatic ending with the Cloud-Rider appearing with His army in the sky! God always warns his prophets first (Amos 3:7) about major end-time events and so it’s natural for the Old Testament prophets to be describing the Battle of  Armageddon before it appears in Revelation (Ezekiel 38-39; Joel 3:8-17).

Putin is like the ‘new Hitler on a rampage’ and he’s doing exactly what Antichrist will do in the Tribulation but is he Antichrist? Russia “is bombing women and children, nursing homes and hospitals, and everything in between. This is the most aggressive military action that has been taken since World War II and there’s a likely chance Putin will continue to conquer other non-NATO states in parts of Europe. While the Ukrainian army and citizens have put up fiercer resistance than was anticipated in Moscow, Russia is not losing this war.

But according to Ezekiel 38:17, Gog is Antichrist and Putin, although very evil and acting like Antichrist, cannot be Antichrist for two reasons.

First, the Apostle Paul makes it clear in 2 Thessalonians 2:5-8 that the church is not going to see Antichrist! Antichrist, the “man of sin,” will not be revealed until after the Rapture. God is still graciously working out His unique plan for the Church-Age and Jesus is still calling out His beautiful bride (the church) and therefore, the restraining ministry of the Holy Spirit is holding back the arrival of Antichrist until God sends Gabriel and his trumpet to call us home!

In God’s sovereign plans, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has resulted in hundreds, if not thousands of Ukrainian souls coming to salvation and therefore becoming part of the body of Christ and His bride! Some startling testimonies are coming out of the war zone of souls being saved! Instead of the Rapture, God is still building His church!

On an important side note, the war has also brought thousands of Ukrainian Jews back to Israel in fulfillment of Bible prophecy! This is another, important, prophetic implication of this war and how God is using it to fulfill His purposes for Israel.

The second reason why Putin cannot be Antichrist is because Antichrist arrives AFTER the arrival of the Ten-King Empire, not before. Daniel 7:24 makes this point clear.

The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. AFTER THEM another king (Antichrist) will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings.

Daniel says that the formation of the ten-king empire is the precursor to the first appearance of Antichrist. Does anyone see a ten-king empire yet? Not me! So why all the internet chatter about Putin being Antichrist and suggesting we are now in the Tribulation?

Long-Term Impacts

Although a possibility, I do not see this conflict escalating to World War 3 at this time. I certainly could be wrong but I say that primarily because so many nations are already in the proper place predicted in the Bible before the start of the Tribulation.

However, it’s becoming more and more apparent this conflict will result in big developments that could push the world closer to the start of the Tribulation.

We currently see the West going all in to isolate Russia financially and economically. This could backfire badly!

The long-term ramifications of this will be interesting to watch and could be a turning point bringing the nations and events of the Tribulation into clearer view:

  • I would watch for efforts made by non-Western countries to create their own economic and financial infrastructure to make themselves less dependent on the West. For instance, look out for efforts of oil-producing nations to begin accepting payment of oil in non-U.S. currency. Because of Biden’s insane energy policies, Saudi Arabia is now in talks to scrap the petro-dollar requirement for purchasing oil. This will be disastrous for the U.S. and could weaken our economy overnight. Is it time for America to fall? “God’s Sovereignty is my Sanity!”

  • I would also watch for geopolitical realignment that brings the most dangerous, anti-American countries together. Imagine how powerful the geopolitical alliance between Iran, Russia, China and North Korea would be.

  • As always, prophecy is Israel and Jerusalem-centric and so it’s vital to watch the shenanigans of the nations surrounding Israel including Turkey, Iran and their anti-Israel ally’s. One of the offshoots of this war could become the formation of an anti-Israel political block of Muslim nations (red countries below). These countries will feel it’s in their interest to combine their resources into a Muslim alliance or Caliphate and I suspect we will begin to see this happen sooner, rather than later!

Despite the perilous times, God doesn’t want His children to live in fear or to stop living your life. If we believe that Jesus is coming back soon than we should be busy about our Master’s business. Plan like Jesus isn’t coming back for 100 years, but live like He’s coming back today,” the old preacher advised.

The worst thing you can do is to get paralyzed and worried. Instead we need to take our cares to the Lord. We have a lot to do until Jesus comes. Live your life, pray for direction from God, and do what you believe God is telling you to do with your life.

Remember this: Jesus is going to be on time and the main thing is for us to be ready!

“For yet a little while,
And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.”

Biden Abruptly Halts

VISA Program for Ukrainians Wanting To Come To America

Dear Friends of BIEM,

  1. Right now we have one of our former national missionaries who is fluent in Polish, English and Ukrainian working with the US Consulate in Krakow where we have about 20 family members (women and children) of our missionaries waiting to get visas. There are others from war areas under attack who have been evacuated to Western Ukraine that may join them if these 20 succeed in getting visas. Initially we thought that we would get some of these refugees into the US within a couple of weeks. However, our people working with the US consulate in Krakow have been informed that the Biden administration abruptly ended the emergency visa program for Ukrainians almost as soon as it started. The press release about Biden opening his arms for Ukrainian refugees is simply not true. Our people in Poland waiting for visas have been told that their only options are the standard B1 & B2 visas which will take much longer. The best we could hope for is the end of April. We just don’t know. Once they get an appointment at the Consulate we will know more. Currently all are waiting for appointments. Please pray that they will get appointments soon.
  2. Most of our national Ukrainian missionaries with young families have been able to get their families made up of women and children to Western Ukraine or Europe with most in Poland. The men all remain in Ukraine where most of their churches serve as bomb shelters where they provide food and lodging along with prayer and sharing of the Gospel. Many are being saved.
  3. The areas where 3 of our churches are, have come under such heavy attack that the focus is on evacuation.
  4. Several of our men are making dangerous trips from the south and west into Kyiv and north of Kyiv to bring in badly needed food, supplies and medicine. Check the War Video Updates section of our Website to view some of their efforts.

Thank you for your concern and for praying for Ukraine and the Ukrainian People,

Sam Slobodian
